yum, yum chomp!

June 21, 2012

I have a friend who has been in my life for what feels like forever.  Since we met each other when we were about 10, it kind of has been forever.  And even though we have kind of drifted in and out and back in to each other’s lives, I always LOVE spending time with her.  Even if it’s limited and rare…I value it so much.  And I have to say, I am SO proud to call her my friend.

See…a couple years ago, my friend Vanessa (Nessa!) and I both worked for the same company.  She hired me, which was great!  It was short stay for me (the pay was awful.), but while it lasted, it was VERY fun.  The company ended up changing hands, and she decided to grab the bull by the horn and create her own destiny.  Working for yourself is incredibly difficult, but the sacrifice is so worth it.  Thus her dream of opening a restaurant blossomed into reality.  I am so inspired by her, and so proud of her accomplishments.

So she did.  All by herself.  Start to finish.  Everything.  I am in awe of this talent.  Her attention to every single detail, her motivation…nothing short of amazing.  To think about how much she puts into it every day is so inspiring to me.  And the food?  It’s delicious.  She opened Chomp Vegan Eatery in Port Moody’s Suter Brook Village.  You can check it out here:  Please go in and try it, even if you aren’t vegan.  You definitely won’t be disappointed.  Love you, Nessa!
